Canada joins Horizon Europe, the largest European program for funding Research & Development
Information
Since 2024, Canadian companies and research centers have been eligible for the European Commission's Horizon Europe Pillar II Program. With a budget of nearly €97 billion over seven years, this program issues calls for proposals several times a year on targeted themes, enabling the formation of consortia bringing together private and public operators from several countries, including now Canada. Pillar II covers health, culture and creativity, digital technology, security, energy, industry, space, energy, mobility, and food. The aim of this panel is to present the opportunities offered by the Horizon program and show how Canadian companies can join forces with European partners to respond to them. Concrete examples of how a European consortium works will be presented, as well as specific projects seeking Canadian partners in the digital sector.
